Mercy Ministry
There are thousands of people in our society who are spurned by the world: orphans, the elderly, the homeless, the poor. By serving these people through compassion and mercy, we hope to show the love of God and spread the Gospel to the world around us.
Mercy ministry is a response to misery or suffering while pointing those we encounter to Christ as their true treasure. As Jesus calls us to love our neighbor as ourselves, we show mercy to both believers and unbelievers. We are drawn to show mercy to Christians because we see Christ in them while we are drawn to show mercy to unbelievers because we want to see Christ in them.
For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.
Matthew 25: 35-36
